Guest preacher Joel Mestry opens 1 Peter 3:13–17, where Peter tells Christians who are suffering for doing good to honour Christ as Lord in their hearts and always be ready to give a reason for the hope that is in them. In Acts 8 we watch Philip do exactly that, sitting beside an Ethiopian official in his chariot and opening up Isaiah for him. What does it look like to be ready to speak of Jesus, and to do it with gentleness and respect?
